Nathalie Bonjour

Freelance artistic producer and director, born in France, Nathalie Bonjour moved to Montreal in 1986 and relocated to Toronto in 2000. She holds a Masters degree from Université du Québec à Montréal; her thesis examined theatre as a tool for intercultural communication.

From 1991 to 1998 she was the Artistic Director of the Saidye Bronfman Centre Theatre where she developed a season of English theatre and programmed the performing arts festivals. In 1998 she was Associate Producer for the Just for Laughs Festival and Centaur Theatre’s Wild Side Festival; and Artistic Associate at the National Arts Centre English theatre.

From 1998 to 2000 Nathalie Bonjour was the Executive and Artistic Director of MAI (Montreal, arts interculturels), a multi-disciplinary venue with a contemporary intercultural mandate. From 2001 to 2005 she was Artistic Producer at Nightwood Theatre where she produced several new Canadian plays including The Adventures of A Black Girl in Search of God by Djanet Sears (in co-production with Obsidian Theatre Company); and a tour of Sonja Mills’ The Danish Play to Denmark, to Magnetic North Theatre Festival in Edmonton, and to the NAC. She also produced special events such as the 25th anniversary FemCab in 2005, featuring special guest Gloria Steinem.

She joined the innovative music theatre company, Queen of Puddings, as Artistic Producer in December 2005. For Queen of Puddings she developed, premiered and toured several new Canadian operas, including Ana Sokolovic's Svadba—Wedding. As of 2018, she is Director, Performing Arts at Harbourfront Centre.
