Quebec-based character actor and inspired clown, born August 21, 1964, who has performed frequently on stage, television and in film.

Martin Drainville was a star of the Ligue Nationale d’Improvisation, and has since performed frequently in summer theatre (Zaza d'abord, Théâtre des Grandes Chênes, 1996). He has twice been co-host (with Benoit Brière) for the annual Masques Awards. He has also performed at Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (Ines Pérée et Inat Tendu, 1991; l'Oiseau vert, 1998) and Théâtre du Rideau Vert (La nuit des rois/Twelfth Night, 1993).

He led in the premiere of Dominic Champagne's Lolita (1995) directed by the author, and was quite touching as the hapless hero lost in a surreal world of Gypsies and magic.

In 2018, after playing primarily harmless good guys, he undertook the role of one of three "Hardings" responsible for the catastrophic railway tragedy at Lac-Mégantic in Les Hardings by Alexia Burger at Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui. He also played in the trenchant TV series, Fragile by Serge Boucher.
