He was the recipient of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for his costumes for the Canadian Stage production of Normand Chaurette's The Queens in 1993 but has also been nominated for Doras six other times.
He has designed for many of the major companies in the country including the Shaw Festival 's production of War and Peace, twelve productions for the Stratford Festival and Tomson Highway 's Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing for the Mirvish company and National Arts Centre .
He has also designed for the Grand Theatre, London , Theatre Calgary , Manitoba Theatre Centre and Centaur Theatre . More recently (December, 2001), he designed Soulpepper 's production of A Christmas Carol.
Mr. Ferguson also designs for opera.
