Matis, Barbra
Set and costume designer for stage and screen, who studied at the National Theatre School of Canada.
Among the many companies for whom Barbra Matis has designed are Centaur Theatre (Balconville - Dora Mavor Moore Award 1981, Broadway Bound, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Master Class and Quiet in the Land); Manitoba Theatre Centre (Quartermaine's Terms, Emerald City); Stratford Festival (Damien); Arts Club Theatre (1000 Miles, 2014); as well as companies in the US.
She has also been an art or production designer for many films, including Shutter Island.
Barbra Matis's designs are marked by a close attention to detail which colours character and story.
