Quebec-based actor, born June 14, 1950. Michael Rudder's first professional performance was in Hair at Toronto's Royal Alexander Theatre. He joined the Toronto underground theatre scene in the early seventies, and trained as a clown. He then moved to Ottawa, and appeared in both the French and English companies of the National Arts Centre in Arturo Ui, Woyzeck, and Le Songe, which toured North America and Europe.

His stage performances include the world premieres of David Fennario's On The Job, Nothing to Lose and The Murder of Susan Parr, and Rick Salutin's Les Canadiens He has also appeared in Godspell (Theatre New Brunswick), Felix Mirbt's productions of Woyzeck and The Dream Play, Misery at Place des Arts, and as the title character in Bulldog Theatre's Frankie and Johnny at the Claire de Lune Café and the male lead in this company's The Heidi Chronicles.

His last stage role was in 2011, as Almady in The Play's The Thing at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts in Montreal.

He has been very active in television and film and works in French and English.

Michael Rudder's performances are marked by an intense physicality and passionate presence.
