Carrefour International de Théâtre
Biannual international theatre festival in Quebec City, Quebec, founded in 1992 by Pierre MacDuff and Michel Bernatchez.
Past artistic directors include Brigitte Haentjens. The current director general is Dominique Violette, the artistic director is Marie Gignac, and the director of production is Marie-Josée Houde.
The festival unites theatre from all over the world and in several languages, as it also exposes Canadian artists to an international audience. Among the productions which have been showcased at the festival are Peter Brook's production of O! Les beaux jours/Happy Days and Robert Lepage's epic Sept branches de la rivière Ota/The Seven Branches of the River Ota.
The 2000 edition hosted works by Lepage, Wajdi Mouawad and Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental, as well as foreign entries: 75 performances in 10 halls. The 2020 Festival was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
