Ontario-based lighting designer for theatre and opera.

Elizabeth Asselstine has designed frequently for the Shaw Festival including productions of Playboy of the Western World, The Children's Hour, An Ideal Husband, Ladies in Retirement, and, in 1999, Rebecca.

She has also designed at Great Canadian Theatre Company (Jason Sherman's The League of Nathans); Stratford Festival (Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard). Other theatre credits include Elizabeth Rex and Coronation Voyage for Globe Theatre; Rice Boy for Canadian Stage; and productions at the National Arts Centre, Citadel Theatre, and the Charlottetown Festival. She created the original designs for Canadian musicals Anne and Gilbert and Stan Rogers: A Matter of Heart. Opera credits include the Baltimore Opera Company's production of Wagner's The Flying Dutchman.

She is Professor Emerita at York University in Toronto.
