Ross, Terrence La Brosse

Quebec-based actor who worked in French and English. He was born in Manitoba in 1932, died in Montreal in 2002.

He began acting as an apprentice in the United States before joining the Montreal Repertory Theatre in 1957.

In 1964 he appeared at the O'Keefe Centre in South Pacific and in the North American tour of Tyrone Guthrie's production of HMS Pinafore.

He has worked with John Hirsch at the Manitoba Theatre Centre (Irma La Douce), with Jean-Louis Roux at Neptune Theatre (Molière's The Miser), and in several productions at the Centaur Theatre (including A Touch of the Poet and Tooth of Crime), and the Saidye Bronfman Centre (including The Gingerbread Lady). From 1973, he appeared on tour throughout Quebec in his own production of Beckett's solo piece Krapp's Last Tape. In 1983 he returned for a season to Manitoba Theatre Centre and performed in A Tale of Two Cities, Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and The Duchess of Malfi.

He also worked extensively in film and television.
