Sachs, Simon
Playwright born and raised in Montreal, Quebec.
He studied at Swarthmore College, Tish School of the Arts and New York University before working for several years in New York both as an actor and playwright.
Since returning to Montreal he has won the Quebec Drama Festival best director award and co-founded Montreal's POV Productions. His play Without Her was one of the successes of the Company's first season.
His play Food, was broadcast live by the CBC.
In 2011, he wrote a monologue for Urban Tales, an anti-Christmas tradition at the Centaur Theatre. In 2014, his monologue Possible Gods was on the theme of sloth, one of the "Seven Deadly Sins" featured at the cabaret.
Simon Sach's plays have a fluidity of structure and dialogue, and an organic sense of humour.
He is married to actor Danette MacKay and they have two daughters.
