Upper Canada Playhouse

Professional theatre company, founded in 1983, and located in a former toothbrush and argyle sock factory in Morrisburg, eastern Ontario on the St. Lawrence River. Its first productions were in a large tent in the wooded outskirts of Morrisburg.

The Playhouse is a charitable non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an Artistic Director and Business Manager. The current A.D. is Donnie Bowes.

The season runs from April through December and consists of a Spring musical show, a four-show Summer Comedy Series, a Fall musical concert and a Christmas show. Recent productions include three plays by Norm Foster: On a First Name Basis (2014), Hilda’s Yard (2015), and The Gentleman Clothier (2015). The company also runs a summer theatre school for children and teens.
