Canadian Theatre Encyclopedia
Submissions
New submissions, updates, and corrections are encouraged. Submissions will be reviewed by an editorial board comprising members of the Association for Canadian Theatre Research before being included. Profiles should be brief overviews, rather than CVs, with emphasis on new works, productions, and current involvement in Canadian theatre. Texts will be edited for accuracy and consistency. Athabasca University reserves the right to refuse inclusions.
Any submission of text to The Canadian Theatre Encyclopedia becomes the exclusive property of Athabasca University. Permission to copy or reproduce the texts in other venues will not, in most circumstances, be withheld.
Texts may be edited.
Guidelines
Please provide the following information with all submissions.
- Name of applicant, last name first
- Brief bio
- List of major contributions to Canadian theatre: plays, productions, performances, publications with venues and dates, and brief description of significance.
- Sources (if applicable)
- Photo (with proof of copyright permission)
The submission should be a maximum of 500 words.
The submissions will be reviewed and edited by members of the Association for Canadian Theatre Research.

Since October 2002, Athabasca University has hosted the web site, with an editorial board comprising members of the Canadian Association for Theatre Research.
To submit an entry for consideration, please consult our guidelines for submissions. Please follow the guidelines. Failure to do so will result in your submission being returned to you.

The Encyclopedia collects and disseminates information on plays, playwrights and theatre practitioners. It does not respond to requests for information, auditions, bookings, or tickets.
The Canadian Theatre Encyclopedia web site was originally conceived and developed in 1996 by Gaetan Charlebois—theatre critic, playwright, and actor.
