Playwright born in St-Pierre de Wakefield, Quebec in 1934; died February 14, 2010.

She studied at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique and in Paris before teaching drama in Hull and publishing, in 1955, a book of poetry.

Among her more than thirty plays are: Les Outardes (premiered in 1969 by Théâtre Populaire de Pointe-Gatineau; remounted by Théâtre de l’Île in 1976), Les Mutilées (1971, L'Atelier), and several children's plays including Au Royaume des mirages (1965) and La Sabotière (1971). She also wrote for radio.

During her career, Mme Déziel-Hupé was awarded first prize by the Canadian Association for Amateur Theatre (1957), and the prize for the best Canadian production at the Festival national de théâtre in Winnipeg (1970).
