Mr. Sherman lives in Toronto.

Among his other works: A Place Like Pamela(1991, Walking Shadow, Toronto, Rod Carley); The Merchant of Showboat (1993, Tarragon, Colin Taylor); The Retreat (1996, Tarragon, Prinsloo). He also adapted Schnitzler's Reigen/La Ronde for Soulpepper Theatre Company (August, 2001).

Of his approach to his work, he told CBC (November 2, 1999), "A great quote Charles Ludlum has is: 'If you are going to tell people the truth, you better make them laugh.' Nobody wants to feel like they're going to be preached at in the theatre. You want to feel like you are going to recognize something of yourself in what's going on stage otherwise, you feel left out."
