Conseil québécois du théâtre
Organization in Quebec, formed in 1983, to represent the theatrical community - its associations, companies and artists. Its mission is to promote and defend the interests of the theatrical milieu in any situation which might affect it. To this end, the organization lobbies governments and funding agencies.
Since April, 1994, it also serves as the Quebec centre for UNESCO's International Theatre Institute.
The Conseil publishes a bulletin, l'Aide-Mémoire, and a brochure, Coup d'oeil (a look at theatrical activity for teachers). It also organizes a biannual conference which brings together theatre professionals and the public in various forums.

Since October 2002, Athabasca University has hosted the web site, with an editorial board of theatre scholars from across Canada.

The Canadian Theatre Encyclopedia web site was originally conceived and developed in 1996 by Gaetan Charlebois—theatre critic, playwright, and actor.
