Temenos (Productions)

A bi-lingual theatre company based in Montreal, founded in 2003 by director Kate Bligh. "Temenos" is a Greek word for sacred space surrounding a temple or altar.

Les productions temenos existed to cultivate excellence and virtuosity in all aspects of its theatrical production in Quebec, through an emphasis on ensemble work, a commitment to train and develop dedicated theatre artists, and the development, creation, adaptation and production of distinct, contemporary and culturally inclusive works. In 2003, it produced Crave by Sarah Kane at Monument National; and in 2004, it mounted Le Songe/Dreamplay at Théâtre La Chappelle. From 2004 to 2010, there was a hiatus in productions. Its final productions was The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts (January 2011).
