Krista Jackson

Director, Dramaturg, based in Montreal. Krista Jackson trained at Toronto Metropolitan University, Shaw Festival’s Neil Munro Directing Project, and Stratford Festival’s Langham Director’s Workshop. She was Apprentice Artistic Director at the Grand Theatre, London, Associate Artistic Director/Director of New Play Development at Manitoba Theatre Centre, and is founding artistic director of zone41 theatre in Winnipeg. She is currently Artistic and Executive Director of Imago Theatre in Montreal.

She has directed at theatres across Canada. Selected credits include: The Retreat (Imago Theatre, 2024); (Shaw Festival); A Doll's House: Part 2 (Mirvish/Manitoba Theatre Centre) ; Liars at a Funeral (Blyth Festival); Lion in Winter, Fly Me to the Moon (Grand Theatre); Sexy Laundry, Perfect Wedding, Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes (Thousand Islands Playhouse); Space Girl (Prairie Theatre Exchange); Dock Spider (Magnus Theatre); Iago Speaks (Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan); Awaken (Shakespeare in the Ruins/zone41); Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,, Sense and Sensibility, Morning After Grace, Private Lives, The Seagull (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre). In 2024, she directed the world premiere of Vern Thiessen and Yvette Nolan’s stage adaptation of Margaret Laurence’s The Diviners at the Stratford Festival with collaborator Geneviève Pelletier.

She has been awarded the Gina Wilkinson Prize and Jean Gascon Award (Stratford) for directing.
